Aosta,Italy to Albertville, France

Today I had Graziella quiet in the car.  She was too scared to say anything.  We drove today from Aosta to Albertville through the Col du Petit St. Bernard pass. It rose to an altitude of just over
2200 m.  It was a white knuckle drive both up and down but was well worth it because of the majestic view.  It was hard to believe that there was a open restaurant at the top just on the border of Italy and France.  The pass had just opened four days ago.  The Italians dig the snow from their side and the French from theirs only to meet at the border.  They then have a big party with plenty of wine.

Here is what the GPS said our road looked like as we were assending the Petit St. Bernard Pass!

This is what it looked like on the French side of the pass.

Here is a picture of what met us at the top of the Petit St. Bernard Pass.
I was hoping for a dog with a keg of brandy after that drive!   We have a video of the assent but I can't seem to get it to load on this blog.  If any techies that can help, would be great.

AlbertVille

I feel at home.
